Church

Why is this school partnered with a Church?

“on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Jesus Christ in Matthew 16.18

The Church

Jesus Christ made a promise to His Church that the gates of Hell would not prevail against it (Matthew 16.18). He did not make this promise to Christian schools or even to Christians individually, but to His Church in particular. Hope Academy is entering into territory that Satan has claimed for himself. Hope Academy is powerless against this power, but Jesus’ Church shall prevail! Therefore, we have attached ourselves to Jesus’ Church, submitting unto it. If the Church is the Bride of Christ (Ephesians 5.25-27), then our school is one of the bridesmaids!

“Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”

— St. Paul in Ephesians 5.25

How does Hope Academy partner with the Church?

Worship & Prayer

At Hope Academy we have partnered with the clergy of Incarnation Anglican Church to help lead prayer and worship throughout the week. We also invite families to join Incarnation Anglican Church for these times of prayer as well as for Feast Day worship services. Once per week and on certain Feast Days, the pastor of Incarnation Anglican Church will serve communion (we call it the Eucharist). All children baptized in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit are welcome to take communion during those services, though if they are not baptized or if you (the parent) wish them to abstain, then they will simply receive a blessing from the pastor.

Governance of the School

Faculty & Staff are not required to be members of Incarnation Anglican Church. Board members are not required to be members of Incarnation either, but must be actively involved in a church. The theology of the Hope Academy does conform to the theology of the Anglican Church. More on “Why Anglican” here.
